Using Sustainable Materials in Interior Design
At Andrew Loader Design we are very selective with suppliers when developing interior design schemes for our residential and commercial clients. We always look for suppliers who offer unique and innovative products that compliment our designs whilst providing sustainable solutions that fall in line with our brand values.
In some of our recent Sydney interior design projects we have collaborated with Scott Dawson from Stack Panel. It is important for interior designers to work seamlessly with their suppliers to ensure great outcomes are achieved for clients, and our relationship with Stack Panel is a fine example of this.
What we love about the stack panel product is its versatility, we have adapted its application and used it in the designs of our Camperdown and Redfern projects as well as our commercial interior designs for offices in Aurora Place.
Home Interior Design
The Design: We selected this product for its striking impact upon the over all scheme in this residential project. It brings interesting pattern, texture and warmth to the monochromatic space and we repeated the effect in the adjoining living room creating a full height feature wall. See more of the project here.
The Product: This unique and resourceful tile product creates a distinctive finish that is truly striking. Made entirely from Western Red Cedar off-cuts, in irregular sizes and composed into random patterns not only meets sustainability criteria but also provides the inherent acoustic qualities of the material and its format.
Commercial Office Interior Design
The Design: In this commercial office design, the floor space is an oval shape encased in ceiling to floor glass with a central core housing essential services at it’s centre. We selected the product to completely clad this central core, creating both a heart for the space and a distinctive decorative central feature. See more of the project here.
The Product: Original Panel provides a bold and dramatic statement which is innovative, contemporary and highly textured. Meeting both Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certification and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) you can rest assured that the timber used comes only from sustainable, well managed forests where there is the highest respect for ecological, social and ethical standards.
Apartment Interior Design
The Design: This penthouse apartment was designed with a mid century modern theme in mind. We used the product to frame the central stairway and as a feature in the master bedroom. Not only does the effect add to the retro feel of the apartment, it brings warmth and visual interest to the space. See more of the project here.
The Product: Runway Panel creates clean, crisp, continuous shadowlines. It is quick and easy to install with its interlocking profile providing consistent alignment. It is available as raw boards (for unfinished ageing or optional custom finishes) or in a range of pre finishes for ‘out of weather’ application. Being Greentag Certified it also provides an improved Green Star rating for fitouts.
Have you used sustainable products in your home? We would love to hear about your project.
