Elizabeth Bay Sydney, Apartment Interior Design
This expansive and light filled apartment is located in the famed ‘ loop ‘ of exclusive Elizabeth Bay, Sydney and was re-imagined by Sydney based interior designers Andrew Loader Design and completed in early 2019.
Positioned at the very edge of Sydney harbour, the apartment enjoys sweeping views from the Sydney Harbour Bridge across to Rushcutters Bay and beyond.
The project scope included the complete renovation of the entrance foyer, living / dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, guest bedrooms, study and the two bathrooms.
With Sydney harbour as the stunning back drop to almost every room, it was very important that the iconic views be the focal point to our design of each space.
We chose an elegant scheme of various shades of grey, silver and cool white which was carried through the design in features including the custom designed fitted carpet which incorporates an elegant Hollywood Regency border motif woven in silver art silk, custom designed floor rugs based on an abstract lotus flower design, fabrics for upholstered furniture and the paint colour scheme which projects the softest shade of grey.
These soft and serene hues are complemented with vibrant pops of colour in the varied and interesting collection of art which is hung throughout the apartment. In addition, two feature walls made from textured timber panels were incorporated into the dining area and these serve as contrasting back drops to the art deco inspired buffets which sit in front of them. These interesting walls are almost art works in their own right. Custom joinery throughout the apartment incorporates a delicate appliquéd lotus flower motif.
The kitchen finishes compliment the elegant scheme and feature polar white stone counter tops offset by a marble patterned stone splash and white tap ware and sink, whilst the fully tiled bathrooms have been designed to project a zen like feel in their simplicity.
Our client was very specific in his brief that his home be elegant and contemporary but most importantly serene and calming. The result is an apartment that reflects refined and understated luxury and elegance, a true waterside haven in the heart of Sydney.
